This Festive Time of the Year.

Creating a sense of joy and peace during this most holy of annual spiritual occasions,

Heralding in a new year with our loved ones and attending masses of heavens' visions,

Remembering what this day of observance and reflection is honestly forever about,

It's crucial we never allow the over-commercialization to consume our faithful shout, 

Santa Claus remains in the childrens' minds as they dream of opening all their presents,

They grow up and learn about fiction but also more importantly love and its decadence,

Midnight remains sacred in the long storied history of such religiously inspired events, 

As we pause and reflect upon the past twelve months we also look forward to the future,

Such beliefs and times coming together remain important as life should teach and nuture!

Guns in America.

I've thought about and I'm certain written something about this issue in the past, but I decided to touch on it again today, after this past weekend's tragedy on the Las Vegas Strip with a couple of  YouTubers. This story has been all over the news this week, sadly MSM, but; it is what it is; also, to continue; as long as the NRA and the 2nd Amendment from the Declaration of Independence and other important pieces of American history are in the backs of my southern neighbours' minds, this issue will never entirely go away. Even current second term President Donald Trump is an NRA supporter, need I say, even type more?, regardless, this issue is still far too important not to touch on, even though I'm a lifetime Canadian. Truly Brave, Courageous and Determined.

45 years ago today, Terry Fox dipped his artificial leg in the Atlantic Ocean near St. John's, Newfoundland, and began his epic Marathon of Hope, in which his goal was to run the equivalent length of a marathon (26.2 miles) every day across Canada, until he reached the Pacific Ocean near British Columbia. This young man made it possible, and he was a star athlete in high school, which certainly meant that he was already in fairly good shape. The sad part of this story was that Terry was stricken by bone cancer in one of his legs, which at the time left no choice but amputation; however, that setback was not going to let Terry give up hope, the goal of his monumental Marathon at the time was to raise one dollar for every Canadian citizen, which was ultimately realized not long before his premature passing in June of 1981.
